I've done that. I've let people I've met through the net crash on my couch when they traveled to San Francisco. For me, it was nice to know that I'm not the only crazy person. I do think most people mean well. Plus, my thought process was they could very well be crazy, but I could also be a mad axe murderer with a freezer in my basement.
