

James D. Scurlock was born in Seattle, Washington on September 15, 1971. He attended the prestigious Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania and has no formal film training. In 2002, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in filmmaking. His first film, Parents of the Year, has been featured in over 25 film festivals and won numerous awards. He is currently in post-production on his third film, Maxed Out, a study of Americans and debt. Stumped! is his first feature film.
